I’m a person with deep reverence for the uniqueness and universality of the human experience. I’m deeply curious about stories—both my own and others'—and the many ways we create connection and meaning in our lives. This natural curiosity, coupled with a conviction for one’s right to freedom, safety, and self-expression, has undoubtedly paved the way for my love of being a therapist.
I formally studied psychology, philosophy, art, and earned a master’s degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. My professional experience spans diverse settings in Cairo, New York, and virtually, including a mental health hospital, nonprofit organizations, youth programs, and private practice.
I am also committed to unlearning the ways in which systems of power shape and sometimes distort our understanding of ourselves and others. From the education we receive to the societal norms we internalize, I challenge assumptions—be they cultural, political, or psychological—that may not align with the lived realities of the individuals I work with. I believe this process of questioning and reimagining is vital to meaningful therapeutic practice.

I offer virtual 1:1 short- to longer-term individual art therapy sessions, tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. I combine art therapy with elements of relational psychodynamic therapy, Gestalt therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and Jungian psychology. The therapeutic relationship forms the foundation of our work, providing a safe container to explore experiences and emotions. At times, we revisit past experiences to address areas of “stuckness” or unprocessed feelings, while at other times, we focus on the present to navigate current challenges and develop practical tools.
I specialize in working with young adults and adults who have experienced trauma or face challenges often labeled as mood or personality disorders. These can manifest as persistent anxiety, stress, depression, emotional dysregulation, or ingrained patterns such as perfectionism, emotional detachment, or self-sabotaging behaviors that can feel isolating or unhelpful. I also support individuals navigating major life transitions, relationship struggles, self-esteem issues, challenges of immigration and feeling uprooted, imposter syndrome, or burnout, as well as those seeking to understand their place in the world and wanting to live with greater purpose and intention.
My practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, those exploring alternative relationship structures, neurodivergent individuals, and people from marginalized backgrounds. My priority is to support you in living your most integrated and actualized self.

unearth was a private practice I founded in Cairo, Egypt, in September 2020 during the height of the pandemic. At the time, I was practicing and teaching yoga in Brooklyn, but with the shifts brought by COVID-19 and the rise of the #MeToo movement in Egypt, I felt compelled to create a space to better serve my community.
For over four years, unearth was a space for healing, exploration, and empowerment—a practice I poured my heart into and a cornerstone of my professional journey.
Today, unearth is my main Instagram page, where I share updates, inspirations, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my work. It remains a place where my journey continues to unfold, offering reflections, resources, and insights into my evolving practice.

Art therapy is a therapeutic modality that combines art-making with psychotherapy to explore thoughts, emotions, and personal narratives. Using imagery, color, shape, and texture, it offers a non-verbal, expressive outlet for experiences and/or feelings that may be difficult to put into words. No artistic skill is needed—only openness to the process.

Art therapy offers a unique way of processing experiences, often uncovering deeper insights and connections that might not be immediately apparent. By engaging with imagery and symbolism, it acts as a bridge to parts of ourselves that may be less conscious but are still essential to how we understand our experiences and the world around us.
